Fire of a motocade of the opposition party

On October 26th, unknown people tried to fire on the motocade of the opposition party Ata-Meken. It was happen about 6 p.m at the pass Dolon (Naryn region). Fortunately, nobody suffered. As member of a party Elegia Musaeva said, unknowns in masks stopped the motocade, fired some shots in air, beated security guards and escaped. What was this? Pr-action? Intrigues of authorities? Criminals? Who knows...

Murder of a journalist

On October, 24th journalist Alisher Saipov was killed in the evening in Osh sity (south region of Kyrgyzstan). He was killed at the street with 3 shots. Near Alisher Saipov was political scientist Ikbol Mirsaitov, he didn’t hurt, but he's suffering from shock now. Osh police is now checking all driving into and out cars. Political week

This week is full of political events. So, what is new? On October, 22nd president Kurmanbek Bakiev signed the decree "About dissolution of Zhogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyz Republic". On October, 23d, Central electoral commission announced the official results of referendum which was hold on October 21 about new redactions of Constitution and Election Code. Well, the total amount of voted people is 2201034. 2078000 or 76,1 % voters agreed with a new redaction of Constitution. 99000 or 3,6% electors voted against. 1, 04% or 22000 of voting papers were invalid. 2077030 or 76,1% voters agreed with a new redaction of Election Code, more that 100 thousand people or 3,7% voted against. On October, 23d president signed new Constitution. On October, 24th, the government of Almazbek Atambaev resigned, but it will act 2 months minimum up to forming of a new cabinet. On October, 24th mass media announced that elections in Zhogorku Kenesh (parliament) will be on December, 16th. On October, 24th Central electoral commission told that all parties of Kyrgyzstan should approve their participation in the parliament elections during 3 days. By the way, our opposition decided to take part in the elections as united coalition under Ata-Meken party. It is interesting, our state officials should resign if they decide to be a candidate for a parliament elections. (used 24.kg and AKIpress.org information)

We had Bishkek Autumn fashion week in Bishkek. I was at all days and made plenty of photos. You can see them there: - Day I - Day II - Day III - Day IV Character of kyrgyz fashion designers is use of various kind of felt (fabric prepared from the sheep wool). Sometimes it looks very good, but becomes annoying. We have a lot of various textile to create fashion things.

Earthquakes in Kyrgyzstan

We had a small earthquake today at the noon time, but I haven't felt anything, really. There are a lot of earthquakes in Kyrgyzstan since last year. Last large earthquake was in 2006 year, on December, 26th in Naryn region, more than 5000 houses were damaged. In 1992 year was a big earthquake in Suusamyr region, at that time about 60-80% of all cities and villages in that area were damaged also.

It is expected that in Kyrgyzstan, as in the whole world, will be an increase of seismic activity in 2007-2008 year
